At Kic, our community is the driving force behind everything we do. Without our dedicated Kic Squad, we wouldn’t be where we are today. As we continue to grow and evolve, we want to hear and celebrate the positive impact that Kic has had on our communities’ lives.
Meet Paris, she’s been a Kic community member since 2018, and has been on an incredible journey with her running. From believing she’d never be a runner, to now nearly rounding out her 0-5km program. Those in the Kic Facebook community will know Paris from her weekly run updates, sharing her KICRUN progress each week (which we love!). We checked in with Paris to ask her a few questions on her running journey…
When did you first join the Kic community?
I’ve been in the Kic community since 2018 when I was 16 – I’m now nearly 22!!! I have literally grown up with this community, it’s the absolute best!
How did you feel at the beginning of your KICRUN program compared to how you’re feeling now?
I’m currently doing the 0-5km program, and at the start of the program, I thought I may never get to run 5km I’m now in my last week of the program and I’ve built up to the 5km mark a few times and couldn’t be happier! It’s such a good feeling mentally and physically knowing I’m capable.
What are your running goals?
My running goals are to run 5km nonstop and just enjoy every run, no pressure on myself. During the program I had a mental goal to not stop during those blocks of running, and I can say I kept my promise to myself! I also have been focusing on my breathing, a big goal was to manage my breathing during my runs.
Why do you love to run?
I’ve been enjoying running so much with Kic because there’s no pressure to run a certain pace or certain track. I have run in some really cool spots over the past month and just enjoyed the act of moving my body. And of course I love Laura talking us through our runs, it’s so lovely!
KICRUN is designed to help you run towards your goal of 3, 5, 10 or 21km. Over 8 weeks, Laura will be cheering you on as you complete 3 runs per week. We’ll help you prove to yourself that if you’re fortunate to run, you ARE a runner!
Shannon has been KIC’ing it since the very beginning and has transformed the way she feels about her body and feels more confident and happy in her own skin.
Before starting KICRUN, Keely never saw herself as a runner, let alone actually enjoy running! However, despite a recent autoimmune diagnosis, having the motivation to start running has helped her journey towards proving to herself SHE IS a runner.
Alicia began her running journey with KIC back in 2020 so she could prove to herself she is a runner!
