Whether you’re looking to start your running journey or have started and are feeling a little unmotivated or uninspired, we encourage you to harness the power of your WHY. Doing this will help you gain clarity and push aside any the other factors which may be infiltrating your motivation or self belief.
Your WHY is the reason you want to run and move your body. Your WHY is a powerful tool to help get your head in the game when you feel a little lost. Your WHY is your own personal reason that nobody else can control or dictate.
By asking yourself WHY you want to run, you allow yourself to take a moment to self reflect and pin point the thing that sparks a fire in you and is going to drive your goals and habits. Your WHY will help power you through each stride.
There are countless reasons that may make up your WHY and it will be something different for everyone – don’t ever feel like it should look a certain way. For one person, their WHY may be to escape and relieve stress, for another it may be to prove to themselves that they’re capable of anything they put their mind to, for others it may be because they love to relish in those post run endorphins.
When you remind yourself of WHY, especially when you’re feeling flat and unmotivated, you allow yourself a moment to refresh and reflect. You allow yourself an opportunity to recognise why you wanted to run in the first place. When you run for your WHY it’s almost impossible for there to be drawbacks or reasons not to put on your runners and get it done.
We choose to do things for reasons and when we can identify these reasons we can remind ourselves of why we should make a start, why we started or why we should keep going. It’s not about running a personal best each time, it’s about taking small steps, harnessing the power from your WHY. The power of your WHY enables you to build stronger and better habits and smash your goals.
By channeling your WHY you’ll be left feeling empowered and proud of yourself. Run for yourself and your WHY, we know you can do it.
So, what is your WHY?
