Reformer fix from home? Greta explains how.

ICYMI: We have a NEW trainer in the Kic app!

Introducing ClassPass trainer of the year, Greta!

Her strong, progressive classes prove that it’s not about the machine – it starts with you.

As ClassPass trainer of the year, with 7 years in the industry, she knows her stuff. Peeling back the layers, Greta’s training style will help you learn exactly where to focus – trust us, you’ll feel like you have a PHD in Pilates.

Her simple and no BS approach to Pilates will have you loading those muscles, like you’re in control. Empowering you to tune into your body and rest or progress when it feels right for you.

But … who is Greta? And what makes her classes so different? We asked her a few Q’s so you can get to know our newest trainer even better.

Explain your Pilates style to the Kic community!

My Pilates style allows people to get their reformer fix from home because I mirror a lot of reformer Pilates exercises and I bring them to the mat. We use props like hand weights, and sliders to create that same workout that you would see on a reformer – but all in the comfort of your own home on a mat! We love!

So what’s the difference between your classes and our other Pilates classes in the app?

The difference between my Pilates classes versus the other classes on the app, is that mine are more strength based, think like reformer Pilates. But my classes on the mat are designed to work all of your muscle groups to fatigue and get you stronger in a really short amount of time.

What’s your piece of advice for someone trying your classes for the first time?

My biggest piece of advice is don’t give up! My classes are not easy and they’re there to challenge you. You’ll get stronger the more you do them – repetition is the key to building strength!

What moves do you have in your classes that mimic that reformer experience?

Some of the movements in my sessions that are similar to the reformer are ‘tippy bird lunges’, ‘plank to pike’, ‘scooters’, ‘crouching tigers’ and ‘offerings’ – pretty much every exercise you’ll see on the reformer, I’ve got it on the mat.

What kind of equipment can we expect in your classes?

In terms of equipment for my workouts, I always say that you can do them without equipment and you can just have yourself on the mat. You do you! But I do add on hand weights, sliders, we can use boxes – all the fun stuff! But as always these can be swapped out for alternatives or no equipment at all!
