Together with New Balance, we’re celebrating all kinds of runners. Because nothing beats running your way. And that’s what makes you a champion.
Meet the KICRUN Champions. Official ambassadors of New Balance and Kic for running their way. Our KICRUN Champions embody what it means to be a runner; they’re running their way on their terms. That’s what KICRUN is all about.
Each of our KICRUN Champions are all on their own journeys with running and have found their ‘why’ for running. We love championing our community here at Kic and we’re so excited to introduce you to four of our amazing Kic community who have been Kic’ing it their way.
Samantha, 0-3km
Samantha is new to her running journey and has been using the 0-3km program and Laura’s treadmill classes to find her running confidence.
“During high school I was made to believe that I wasn’t a runner, but I’m determined to build a better relationship with running”
“For me, the structure of KICRUN has helped me regain my confidence in running and what I am able to achieve. I can’t wait to reach my goal of 3km by the end of this 8 weeks”
Allira, 0-5km
A proud Yorta-Yorta woman, Allira is a creator, author, speaker, advocate and long-time Kic community member. Allira completed the 0-5km KICRUN program and found her ‘why’ for running through it’s mental health benefits.
“I completed my first 5km in June and since then, I’ve been smashing my goals and finding huge mental benefits.”
“I remember when I started running I kept thinking ‘I hate this.. I’m not a size 8, I’m in this bigger body… I can’t do this’. Fast forward to now, I can confidently run 5km. It’s slow, but I don’t care. The way that running has transformed my life is insane. It really is the best and it’s changed absolutely everything for me”
Liz, 5-10km
When Liz isn’t passionately studying law, you’ll find her teaching Pilates or leading our KICRUN Club in Melbourne! Liz was recently diagnosed with endometriosis and found running as her way to teach herself self-compassion.
“The thing that running has taught me the most is to have patience and self-compassion with myself. Not all days are perfect but I’m still going to show up for myself 100%. It’s been a way to prove to myself that I CAN do it and I can kick goals.”
Benny, 10-21km
Benny hasn’t just completed the 10-21km KICRUN program once, but TWICE! Benny has been on a long journey with running and has come from never believing that she could be a runner, to now knowing anyone can do it.
“Being from Kenya, the land of amazing runners, there was always an expectation that I was a decent runner. I was never athletic as a kid so never saw myself as a ‘runner’. Once I started running it became more about the ‘high’ and sense of achievement I felt and less about where I am from – anyone can do it.
My ‘why’ for running is for looking after my mental health and feeling the clarity running provides me. I enjoy being able to zone out… once I’m into my run, it’s amazing to see what my body can do. I can just relax and be present – that’s what I love about running with Kic.”
Our next KICRUN Champion, You.

Alicia began her running journey with KIC back in 2020 so she could prove to herself she is a runner!
We reached out to our incredible community to discover and share the ways in which Kic plays an uplifting role in their lives.
