Kic has taught me to fall in love with movement again…

At Kic, our community is the driving force behind everything we do. Without our dedicated Kic Squad, we wouldn’t be where we are today. As we continue to grow and evolve, we want to hear and celebrate the positive impact that Kic has had on our communities’ lives.

Meet Gemma Frandina, our incredible community member who fell in love with movement again and found a balanced mindset when it comes to health and wellbeing, all thanks to Kic! Here’s Gemma’s story…

What has Kic taught you?

Kic has taught me to fall in love with movement again in a positive (not destructive way) to prioritise my wellbeing and find balance, and to feel safe and inspired by other women.

What was your relationship with food and exercise before Kic?

I have a history of severe anorexia nervosa. Throughout recovery, it was really hard to find support to establish a healthy relationship with exercise, and to find role models that promote a positive relationship with food. Whilst I’ve been recovered for some time now, and despite working as a clinician in the eating disorder space, I still felt my relationship with exercise was fragmented. Since starting Kic I am the healthiest and most confident I’ve ever been. 

Would you recommend Kic to your friends/family and why?

ABSOLUTELY. Already do! The Kic community is incredible, and the Kic team are so inspiring and relatable and I love the variety of content available. Most importantly, the Kic values/mission I really align with. 

How do you use Kic in your daily life?

At the moment I’m listening to the KICPOD, and in app I’m doing the workouts, running, Pilates, recipes, and I’m keen to start using meditations and yoga. 

Can you share a memorable experience or achievement you've had while using Kic?

Starting running! One of my 30 goals in my 30th year is to run 5km – I’ve had to hit pause due to injury but so excited to tick it off!

How do you feel Kic sets itself apart from other health and fitness programs or apps you've tired in the past?

Kic’s mission and values. Hands down. No other fitness apps have such a balanced and healthy influence on food and body. No calories, no “burn this off” – it’s incredibly powerful.

What do you love most about our Kic community?

It feels so much more inspiring and motivating – all real life women navigating similar struggles in life getting through it and supporting each other
