Here’s the low-down for our Express Lift Challenge

PSA for anyone who feels intimidated or lost in the gym. Our 8-week Express Lift Challenge is designed for people who have no idea wtf to do.

Developed by Kic’s head trainer, Danny and guided by your hype girl, Steph – it’s just like having a PT in your pocket.
Get ready to feel strong and supported when you step in with a plan. With no weigh ins, before and afters or restrictive diets, it’s the inclusive gym challenge that will actually make you feel good.

1. So, what is Express Lift?

Our Express Lift challenge is here to help you build that confidence in the gym when you have no idea wtf to do.

You’ll get a fully functional program, to help you master gym equipment and machines like leg press, barbells, bench, cable machines and more.

2. How do I know if Express Lift is for me?

This challenge is made for anyone who:

  • Wants to feel comfortable using gym equipment
  • Has 20-30 minutes to workout
  • Wants the flexibility of choosing 1-5 sessions per week
  • Is looking for PT guidance without the exxy fees

If you’ve tried strength training before and you’re wanting to level up, Express Lift is for you.
Complete newbie to strength training? No worries! We recommend looking into our ‘Begin with strength’ series or our KICSTART program to get you started.

3. How many days should I Lift per week?

Choose from 1 – 5 workouts per week, Express Lift is designed to fit with your lifestyle. Choose to focus solely on your challenge or if you love the flexibility of working out at home and in the gym, pair Express Lift with your favourite Kic masterclasses. It’s all about working out your way!

3. How long are the workouts?

Each workout in the program is 20-30 minutes long – perfect for a quick workout sesh! Workouts are rep based though, so go at your own pace. You may need a longer rest break, or you’re waiting for someone to finish up with the equipment, you do you.

4. Who is the Lift trainer?

This 8-week challenge has been developed by Kic’s legendary Master Trainer, Danny Kennedy. Danny has over 10 years experience, coaching a range of elite athletes & major media personalities, helping them to achieve their fitness goals at the gym.

Steph will be with you every step of the way, with her guided videos there for any exercises you’re unsure of! Workout your way with Lift.

5. I have gym anxiety, HEEEELP.

You’re not alone. In fact, in a recent Kic survey, more than half of you have experienced gym anxiety and felt intimidated in the gym before – something called ‘Gymtimidation’. The good news is we’re here to help.

Building confidence in the gym is a result of taking action and gaining experience in a new environment – stepping outside your comfort zone is a vital step! Together, we can flip gymtimidation to gymdomination.

6. What gym equipment will I use with Express Lift?

Express Lift is here to help you learn to confidently use the gym equipment and machines.
Our program uses Barbell, leg press, pull up bar, bench, dip bar, landmine, trap bar, leg extension machine, squat rack, back extension machine, hamstring curl, cable machine and lat pull down. There’ll also be some free weights involved including: dumbbells and kettlebells.

Get ready to feel confident in the gym!

7. Waiting for equipment to free up?

Tap the exercise to use the swap feature to focus on a different workout or switch up your exercise order. Take an active break by doing some mobility stretch or if you’ve got some extra energy to burn, why not hit the treadmill with Laura for a 10 minute sweat session.

8. So, what's the difference between Lift and Express Lift?

Lift is our ‘OG’ gym program which is a 12 week gym program to help you level up your gym game. Workouts are 40-50 minutes long and you can Lift between 1-5 times per week.
Express Lift’s workouts are a bit shorter and the challenge goes for 8 weeks. Both have a focus on building gym confidence and help you Kic’ it your way!

9. What won't we find in this challenge?

  • Weigh-ins.
  • Before & afters.
  • Restrictive diets.
  • Excessive exercising.
  • Not knowing wtf to do in the gym.

We say screw that. Get ready to feel strong and supported with our 8-week Express Lift Challenge.

9. When can I start the challenge?

Set your alarms, Express Lift is starts 2nd of September.
