Building a healthy relationship with food & exercise with KIC member, Constance.

The KIC community is a very special place. We are an army of strong, dedicated and like-minded people who regardless of geographical location provide endless support and encouragement of one another.

Together, we seek to make progress and not strive for perfection. One of our incredible members is Constance, her energy and commitment to making both the health of her mind and body a priority is so admirable.

We took some time to chat with Constance about her KIC journey, including her initial impressions of the KICRUN program and why she loves KIC.

Tell us about your journey with KIC, where did it all start and why?

My KIC journey started at the end of 2019 and ultimately after seeing Steph and Laura’s posts and what was available on the app it enticed me! I have always been consistently busy whether is was work, uni, practicals and now full time teaching but KIC has ultimately supported my journey exercising from home – saving time but keeping me accountable in completing daily exercise.

You've found yourself in and out of lockdowns over the last 18 months, how has KIC helped you through this time? How has it made you feel?

The lockdowns have definitely been a roller coaster of emotions and attempts at staying motivated. KIC’s variety kept me motivated, interested and not bored with exercises! The flexibility of being able to choose from so many different things was something that kept and enabled me to try new things and challenge myself! I was so grateful for KIC especially when working from home on a desk chair, as I was able to break up my day with KIC inspired exercise and helped managed both my physical and mental health.

In light of KICRUN launching, we want to ask you a little bit about your experience with running. Tell us about your running journey and how you're feeling about starting the KICRUN program.

I have always wanted to be a ‘good’ runner but my running has ultimately been impacted by my fluctuating weight, health choices and fitness levels. I am truely set on following the KICRUN Program. I am so excited to get fitter and gain consistency in my running pace and time. I feel so motivated by the fact that Laura is on the journey with you and encourages you to keep going.

What is your favourite and must-try KIC recipe?

I love all the oat recipes especially the Tiramisu Overnight Oats – they’re the perfect breakfast (coffee and oats all in one!).

What is one piece of advice you'd give to someone thinking about joining KIC?

I encourage anyone who wants to enjoy exercise but also challenge themselves to try KIC. The supportive community, beautiful co-founders and well created app capture the true essence of what being healthy, happy and fit means whilst also allowing you to feel love for yourself during your lowest points. Even with a busy lifestyle and low motivation to go to the gym, KIC has the ability to change your mindset about exercise!

What is your favourite thing about being a part of the KIC community?

I love being a KIC member because when I feel disappointed about my eating habits I am reminded that you are not alone and that there is a safe place to share your concerns and find motivation to keeping moving forward. The community is about love rather than judgement – everyone is happy and excited for one another especially when it comes to finding a positive relationship with food and exercise!

If you’re not already a part of the KIC community and would like to join Constance and thousands of other incredible members, you can trial KIC for 7 days and join the private KIC Facebook Community!
